Elle Newlands signs with Lawson Artist Management

December 30, 2006 (Los Angeles, CA) Scottish actress and recording artist Elle Newlands has signed with Lawson Artist Management for personal management.

Elle Newlands, born and raised in Scotland, trained with teachers from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and the famed La Scala in Italy. Before her recent move to Los Angeles, Elle appeared in several BBC television shows, including the lead in a pilot, commercials, music videos and films; most recently the lead in “1974 in California,” an official selection of the 35th International Rotterdam Film Festival. On stage Elle has performed Celie in Moliere’s “The Imaginary Cuckold” and Puck in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Elle is currently voicing lead character Amanda Acorn in the animated DVD series “Tiny Oaks: Learn Along with Me” featuring music by Grammy and two-time Academy Award winner Richard M. Sherman. Disney composer Sherman (who, with his brother Robert, penned the classic ‘It’s a Small World’ amongst other hits) also composed the music on the accompanying CD soundtrack “Sing Along with Me,” on which Elle performs five tracks. In addition to this project, Elle also recorded voice-overs and vocals for a character in Hasbro’s current North American tour of “My Little Pony Live: The World’s Biggest Tea Party.”

Also an indie pop artist, Elle’s vocal recording of “In Heaven” appears on the compilation album “Independently Speaking” alongside Grammy-nominated Az Yet and mega-hit R&B group Dru Hill. She has toured Britain and Europe, performing on stage with Seal, Travis, The Pointer Sisters and Natalie Imbruglia. Elle has been featured on MTV, and hosted her own segment ‘Elle’s Pop Diary’ on a popular BBC Radio show. In addition to her songwriting, indie pop and animation vocal recordings, Elle has composed original scores for festival films “Honeyrun” (featuring three of her tracks) and “The Boogie.”
