Annie Wood to MC charity fundraiser Drop in the Bucket honoring the Dixie Chicks
September 26, 2007 (Hollywood, CA) Actress Annie Wood
will be the master of ceremonies at charity Drop in the Bucket's annual fundraiser on October 19, 2007, where the Dixie Chicks will be honored. Drop in the Bucket is a non-profit organization that combats the deadly water crisis in Africa by installing water wells in villages and large rural schools.
Drop in the Bucket's private fundraiser will raise money for a large water project in the war-torn northern region of Lira. Over 1.6 million refugees are now returning to their homes after 20 years. Sam Childers, who is also speaking at the fundraiser, currently runs the largest orphanage in the Sudan, specializing in rescued child soldiers. Drop in the Bucket will also be raising funds to purchase larger equipment for drilling crews in Uganda.
