Even The Sun headlines festival for over 18,600 people in Okinawa, Japan
December 3, 2007 (Okinawa, Japan/Los Angeles, CA) Los Angeles-based funky alternative rock band Even The Sun rocked a festival which drew more than 18,600 people during the Marine Corps Community Services Camp Courtney Christmas and Holiday Festival Decemeber 2-3.
Armed Forces Entertainment, the official Department of Defense agency for providing entertainment to U.S. military personnel overseas, booked the band for the event, which was open for the public. The event also featured game booths, amusement rides, a kiddie land and a variety of cultural foods. The festival also featured the program Giving Trees, which provided 60 children (30 boys and 30 girls) with early Christmas gifts courtesy of Mattel by way of a drawing. Event sponsors also held drawings and gave away a variety of prizes that included airline tickets. The festival concluded with a one-hour performance from the Orlando Magic Dancers.
Even The Sun will conclude its tour of U.S. military bases and clubs in Okinawa on December 10th.
