Charity Group, LLC adds two board members
July 10, 2008 (New York, NY) Steven Bernstein, Citigroup executive, and Tom Crowley, founder and president of TAC Enterprises and WarHorse Capital Management, have joined the board of the Charity Group, LLC, a provider of technology and services for the philanthropic sector, the firm announced.
Steven Bernstein retired from Citigroup in 2005 after a 23-year career at the company in fixed income sales and trading in New York and Japan. Most recently, he served as global head of Securities Services, overseeing $6.8 trillion in global securities for central banks, corporations, pension funds and money managers.
Bernstein currently is the founder and president of Zenbu Media, a multi-media music company with properties including Global Rhythm magazine; Relix magazine which produces the JAMMYs New York musical awards program for the jamband scene; Metal Edge; Metal Maniacs; Relix Records; the Green Apple Music and Arts Festival; and Zendition, a digital publishing division.
Tom Crowley, former managing director of GE Equity, has over 35 years of entrepreneurial, corporate and investment management experience. He is currently president of TAC Enterprises and WarHorse Capital Management, where he invests in and advises early and growth stage companies. He and has founded, managed and advised over two dozen early stage businesses, emphasizing information technologies, digital media and business services.
A veteran media and communications executive, Crowley worked for 15 years with such companies as Home Box Office and Time Warner Cable. During his 12 years at GE Capital, Crowley invested more than $250 million of private equity in early and growth stage companies, managed numerous business turnarounds and was involved in major buy-out and recapitalization financings. Well known and highly regarded in the venture capital community, he has served on boards and acted as interim chairman for a variety of early stage companies.
