Elle Newlands helps children write and perform original songs at Comfort Zone Camp

September 28, 2008 (Malibu, CA) Actress and recording artist Elle Newlands recently spent the weekend volunteering as a Big Buddy and sharing her songwriting talents with children at Comfort Zone Camp, a bereavement camp for children and teenagers attended over the weekend by 60 kids. The camp experience culminated in a vocal performance of an original song by some of the kids at the camp's closing ceremony.

Comfort Zone Camp® is the nation's largest independent bereavement camp. Comfort Zone Camp hold camps for children ages 7-12 and a separate camp for teens age 13-17. Comfort Zone Camp, which offers free getaways for youth who have lost loved ones, recently received a $3 million grant to expand beyond the Richmond, VA area and triple the number of campers who can be served. The three-year grant from the New York Life Foundation will allow the camp to expand to five locations and increase its annual capacity for campers from 800 to 2,400 by 2010.
